Add your first truck

Add a truck to your Load Work fleet with required details like name, unit number, and equipment type. Optional fields include VIN, dimensions, liftgate, and photos.

Adding a truck tells Load Work what equipment you run so the load board can filter for matching freight. The equipment type you select here is what determines which loads appear on your board. Plans limit how many trucks you can add: 2 on Essential, 25 on Pro, and unlimited on Enterprise.

Add truck form fields

Field	Required?	What it does
Truck name	Yes	A friendly label like “Unit 101” or “White Pete”. This is the display name you see in your fleet list.
Unit number	Yes	Your internal fleet number. Use whatever numbering system your dispatch already uses.
Equipment type	Yes	Pick 1 of the 16 types (for example, Cargo Van, Flatbed, Reefer). This is the field that drives load matching on the board and in your alert rules.
VIN	No	Vehicle identification number, stored for your internal records only.
Length	No	Overall length of the truck or trailer in feet. Helps you sanity-check whether freight will fit.
Width	No	Overall width in feet. Helps you sanity-check whether freight will fit.
Height	No	Overall height in feet. Helps you sanity-check whether freight will fit.
Payload capacity (lbs)	No	How much weight the truck can haul. Use this to filter out overweight loads.
Liftgate	No	Toggle if the truck is equipped with a liftgate. Helps match freight that requires one.
Team drivers	No	Toggle if this truck runs with team drivers. Can affect load matching for time-sensitive freight.
Photos	No	Upload images of the truck for your internal records.
Notes	No	Any details your team should know (for example, “Needs new tires by March”).

How to add your first truck

1. Open the Trucks page

   In the left sidebar, click Fleet → Trucks, then click Add truck.

2. Fill in required fields

   Enter the Truck name, Unit number, and Equipment type at minimum.

3. Add optional details

   Fill in VIN, dimensions, payload capacity, liftgate, team drivers, photos, and notes to keep better records and improve matching.

4. Save the truck

   Click Save. The truck now appears in your fleet list and counts toward your plan limit.

Expected result: the truck appears immediately in your fleet table at Fleet → Trucks. The equipment type you selected now shapes which loads surface on your board and in your notification rules.

You can come back and edit any truck later. Keeping the current location updated helps dispatchers see which unit is closest to a hot load.

ELD live tracking is coming later. For now, location is manual.
