Load Work tracks 16 equipment types. On load cards, you see shorthand codes instead of full names. This page lists both.

Full equipment type list

What each type means

Equipment type	Typical use
Cargo Van	Small expedited freight, local and regional runs.
Sprinter Van	Slightly larger expedited freight, often longer distances than cargo van.
Box Truck (Straight)	Local delivery, final-mile, and light freight.
Power Only	Moving trailers or containers when you provide the tractor only.
Hotshot	Time-sensitive lighter loads on a pickup-style truck, often with a gooseneck or flatbed trailer.
Flatbed	Open-deck freight: lumber, steel, machinery, building materials.
Reefer	Temperature-controlled freight: produce, frozen goods, pharmaceuticals.
Dry Van	Enclosed trailer for general freight, no temperature control.
Step Deck	Lower deck height for taller loads that do not fit a standard flatbed.
Double Drop	Very low center deck for oversized or tall freight.
RGN	Removable gooseneck trailer for heavy equipment and machinery.
Lowboy	Extremely low deck for tall and heavy loads.
Conestoga	Flatbed with a rolling tarp system, combines open-deck flexibility with van-like protection.
Tanker	Liquid or bulk commodities: fuel, chemicals, food-grade liquids.
Auto Carrier	Vehicle transport: cars, trucks, heavy equipment.
Other	Equipment that does not fit the standard 15 types.

Shorthand codes on load cards

Brokers post equipment in their own words. Load Work normalizes those into short codes on the card. These are the most common codes you see:

v	Van (usually Dry Van)
sv	Sprinter Van
bx	Box Truck
bxr	Box Truck with Reefer (refrigerated box truck)
hs	Hotshot
hs(flat)	Hotshot with Flatbed trailer
r	Reefer
v+r	Van or Reefer (broker accepts either)
v(team)	Team-driver Van
